The Honors Program is a four-semester (12 required credit hours) sequence,
which a student begins in the fall semester of his or her junior year.
CCJS 388H is the first course in the sequence, and will only be offered in the fall semester.
During the spring semester of junior year, students take a course that is akin to an independent study.
This has the goal of solidifying the thesis topic and beginning preliminary research.
During the senior year, students must complete 389H, as well as take a graduate course in the CCJS Department.
The undergraduate course, which is offered in the fall semester,
is a writing intensive course during which the student will complete a thesis/research proposal.
At the end of the semester, all students must orally defend their thesis.
Students may complete the graduate course during the fall or spring semester of their senior year.
Honors
students may count their honors courses toward satisfaction of their major
curriculum requirements.
