Pennsylvania Department of Corrections (PADOC) released a landmark report on recidivism in Pennsylvania. The recidivism report was prepared by Bret Bucklen, who is a doctoral candidate in CCJS and the Director of Planning, Research, and Statistics at PADOC. Professor Kiminori Nakamura served as a technical advisor for the report with grant support from the National Institute of Justice. The report establishes a baseline against which the impact of the state's future efforts to reduce recidivism will be measured. The report also connects with the PADOC's new initiative of providing financial incentive to community corrections centers (halfway houses) to reduce recidivism.
