Speaking to the Question of Criminology’s History: Professor Brendan Dooley
Dr. Brendan D. Dooley has accepted an invitation by the Advisory Board of the Oral History Criminology Project to serve in the capacity of Project Director. The Project is now partnering with the American Society of Criminology in offering its collection of more than 40 videos available to enthusiasts of the field free of charge. The ongoing effort preserves leading criminologists’ first-hand accounts on a variety of issues including the development of their careers, significant contributions, and reflections on the state of the field generally. The site allows the user an opportunity to view recollections on the evolution of criminology’s craft from its decorated scholars, living and passed.
Daren Fisher, CCJS graduate assistant, assists Dr. Dooley with the work of the Project. In the coming months, the Project will be collecting and sharing additional conversations with several former ASC Presidents and other scholars.
