Analysis in R
Dr. Robert Brame
University of South Carolina

We will begin this workshop by discussing the philosophy of R (free, open source, shared development). Then, we will overview how to: (1) use R to conduct basic data input/output and manipulation; (2) generate basic graphs and charts for data visualization; and (3) conduct elementary statistical analyses. We will also consider the range of tools available for data analysis with R and ways of troubleshooting when problems arise. No prior experience with R is required and the workshop should be accessible to anyone who has had a basic undergraduate probability and statistics course. We will be referring to a special webpage with all of the data and R code used in the workshop and that page will remain available after the workshop is over.
